AOK-DANCE offers various different classes in Clonmel, Tipperary

All classes are held in the school's own studio, which is a welcoming and safe environment.  The studio is fully equipped with a dance floor, as well as ballet barres and mirrors.  The emphasis is on enjoyment, creativity and confidence-building, while learning.  All classes are taught by Aoife O'Keeffe.

These classes range from beginner to a more advanced level, and technique is introduced from a young age in a fun and encouraging way. There are five different ballet classes. The classes are split based on age and school year, starting from preschool only classes, and progressing in line with school groupings, with each class at a more advanced level than the previous one. Exams are offered regularly. Classes are as follows:

Lyrical dance / contemporary Ballet

These classes combine ballet, contemporary dance and jazz, and there is a strong focus on creativity and technique, allowing students to express themselves through movement. Classes follow the ABD (Associated Board of Dance) contemporary syllabus. There are various performance opportunities, both competitive and exhibition, as we as optional exams.The classes are split in to various different groups, based on age and school year, as follows:​

Pointe work

These classes are offered to ballet students within the school who are ready to take the next step, and go from demi pointe to full pointe. There are limited places in these classes. All pointe work will use the support of the ballet barre before progressing.

Boys contemporary dance

BOYS CONTEMPORARY DANCE These classes are designed specifically for boys, and approach dance in a fun way. There is a strong focus on creativity in these classes, as well as expressing themselves through movement. The classes are split in two groups based on age.

Additional needs classes

The 'stars' class is for students with additional needs. It is a small class, with a focus on having fun, encouraging creativity, and allowing students to participate at whatever level they are comfortable, in a safe and relaxed environment.

Progressing Ballet Technique

Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening programme that focuses on core strength, weight placement and alignment of the body, and is extremely beneficial to all dancers. This class is only offered to students within the school.

Adult dance

These classes are suited for both beginners and those with experience, allowing participants to move at their own pace. The classes combine dance with fitness in a relaxed atmosphere. You're never too old to dance.

One-to-one classes

These private lessons are available on request to students of the school only, and are subject to availability. Whether it is to work on a solo, or simply to look at a certain area of technique, these classes allow the students to focus on areas specific to them.
